Alice Black
The
IGI shows Alice as being born 'abt. 1844' in Inkpen
but we understand it is more like 1837. Her
christening entry has not yet been found. She married
Vandelow (or Vanlo) Barney at a date and place
unknown.
They
had nine children:
Lavinia
- christened 7 Sep 1859 at Binstead,
Hampshire. She married Noah Bowers. Lavinia
died on 4 Feb 1932. There is a picture of her
in the Photo Album.
"She
was burned with her wagon in a Gypsy
ceremony when she died."

Southampton and Winchester, in Hampshire.
She
was buried on 23 Nov 1911 in Botany Bay, Sholing
which is now part of the city of Southampton,
Hampshire.
